Sitting.

This summer is knockin' me down......

I love my kids but they are not easy. One boy is at the age when he thinks it is cool to "diss" everyone around him. The other boy is at the age of thinking that everyone has to do what he says, when he says. And if you don't, look out.

My daughter is 15 months and busy. I mean she just does not stop.

And me, well, I am a Momma who has never experienced all of this before. And caring for three children who have different needs and demands wears me out.

Physically. Emotionally.

Sometimes I just want to sit down. I want to sit down and not be asked to do something, to see something, to get something. I want to sit down without yelling. I want to just sit.

But then I look at pictures like this one and remind myself that this time of my life will pass just as quickly as the last 34 years and I need to enjoy it now.

I need to sit and smile. In the midst of chaos.

These are a few of my favourite things.....

I don't know about you but whenever I am thinking about my favourite things I cannot get the song from The Sound of Music (one of my all time favourite movies) out of my head.

Listing my favourite things is long, but you already know alot of them.

Chocolate....check
Aprons.....check
Blistex.....check
Shoes.....check
Gossip magazines.....check

And recently I have fallen in love with these. They are yummy. They are crunchy. They aren't even many calories which is a huge deal to a Momma who enjoys food with a very high calorie count. Just remember to eat only one package at a time.

Orange Kool Aid. I love, love, love this stuff. No, I am not 8. I used to drink Killer Kool Aid's when younger and could stay up past 930pm, but now that I am older and um...more mature I will drink it without the alcohol. Although I do have to admit that I think about having an alcoholized version while dealing with the 57th fist fight of the day between my boys.
I broke down and bought this book. I avoided the hype for a few years but couldn't resist finding out why everyone loves Edward so much. So far it is pretty good. Nothing to stop me from the rest of my life but it is entertaining. The weird thing is I cant help but picture the Edward from the movie (that I have never seen) and I do not find him the least bit attractive.

Colbie Caillat. Love her.

We purchased a pool this summer. I wanted something to keep the boys busy and hoped that this would be the perfect thing to wear them out. I was right. They spend all day everyday in the thing. Only problem is they need to be supervised at all times because I am a paranoid Momma who has visions of her children drowning in the 3 foot pool. Spending 3-4 hours a day supervising does not allow me to have much of a life and to get anything done. The life of a Mother. Oh joy, oh bliss.

This Etsy store. I love her jewellery. I want one of her necklaces with all three of my kids names. One day....................

Prince Edward Island. I want to go there. We will go there........someday soon I hope.

Now go see Mama's Losin It to check out other completed assignments this week.

Toodles!

Look out Zoolander!

Rowdy will soon be taking over the runway as a top male model.

He is ahead of his time.

He starts trends....

does not follow them.

Instead of wearing sandals or even going barefoot while playing in the sand pile, he donned this beauty of an outfit.

Uh huh.

I know.

Hawwwwwwwt.

Pay close attention to his bright orange dirtbike helmet, camouflage style rubber boots and messy face.

Because this trend is about to hit the Universe.

I told you first.

"Eww" is an understatement.

I am not a fan of reptiles.

Snakes, lizards and even frogs/toads.

Place one near me and I may just scream like a 5 year old girl and run away.

Really.

One problem.

I have two boys.

Two boys who love creepy crawly disgusting creatures.

And they think it is very funny to bring these creatures to their mother for Show and Tell.

I think they just like to see me scream.

Rowdy and Studley (the dog) found this lil' creature in our barn. Lovely isn't he?

Rowdy then instructed me to take a picture.

So I did.

And I didn't even scream.

Until I went back in the house.

Pasta and Picking.

The theme for the Bloghop this week is "Favourite Kids Photos".

It is impossible for me to pick a few pictures because, really, if my kids are in it, I love it.

So instead this week I will show you my favourite recent photo.

Sure it isnt the most flattering picture for my dear Princess, but it shows where she is right now in her development.

She loves to feed herself pasta.
And she has discovered how to pick her nose.

Momma is so proud.

Momma aka Your Personal Shopper

Just call me a "Jack of all Trades". I cook. I clean. I wipe butt. And I shop. Alot.
Especially on Etsy.

So I thought, why not help out others who love shopping but dont have the time or patience to search.

Genius. I know.

So this week I have found some "environmental items" that I feel will benefit every household in the universe.

Youre welcome.

Firstly, a print of bleeding trees.

A teeny, tiny felt tree.

A worm composting bag that can hang anywhere in your home. There are many designer designs so it can fit in perfectly with your home decor.

Reuseable sanitary napkins. Umm.......

And a reuseable tampon. You can purchase the pattern so you can make 10 for yourself.

Ummm..................

Now, while I go vomit, you can go purchase any or all of the above.

Any suggestions for next weeks theme?

I love to help.

* Before you go shopping, please, please, please pray for dear little Stellan. Here is his Mommy's blog so you can read more.*

“Someone's opinion of you does not have to become your reality.” -- Les Brown

I have lived most of my life worried about what other people think about me.

Wanting to fit in.

Wanting to be the prettiest.

Smartest.

Coolest.

Skinniest.

At 34, I am finally realizing that the only thing that matters is that I love myself.

I am working on it.

Overwhelmed

I have to admit that I am in a bit of a "funk" lately. Spending 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with three misbehaved children and horrible weather makes for a very tired, stressed out Mommy. And I am not at the Blogher conference. Enough about that.

I have played with my kids.
I have taken them to fun places.
I have watched them play.
I chauffeur them around to their many appointments and social engagements.
I cook for them.
I clean up after them.
I smile.
I tell them I love them even though they have caused my blood pressure to spike multiple times that day.
I kiss them.
And hug them.

I praise them for their accomplishments and teach them when they need teaching.

I remind myself that I am truly blessed for my smart, beautiful, healthy children.

But.........

I am overwhelmed.

I am tired.

I want to put myself "first" once in awhile.

I want to do things for me occasionally.

Do you ever feel this way?

The List

Ok, MamaKat gave us some tough prompts this week. Damn her! It is summer time, I have three children with me at all times and barely have time to tinkle in private. So I was kinda hoping she would ask us to write a 10 word post about bugs or list the curse words my children have said so far this morning.

Now those would be simple.

But instead she is making us think. Making us moms who lost their brain cells in childbirth actually be creative and come up with something...well...readable.

Geesh.

Today I am going to make a list. Not just any list. A list of things my 7 1/2 year old is doing at this time of his life. The accomplishments he has made recently and special things he does.

Are you ready? Are you sitting down? I would if I were you.

Just sayin'.

At 7 1/2, my boy is a computer/technology genius. He has taught me how to use my camera and MP3 player. Who knew that I could actually record a story in my camera to go along with the picture so I don't forget???? He did of course.

Messy is still...ummmm...messy. He thinks that the world is his garbage can and he can throw wrappers on the ground without mean old Mommy finding them. One day he will realize that it would just be easier to find a garbage can in the first place instead of mean old Mommy nagging at him to pick it up.

My oldest child has discovered The Land of Curse Words. It is a fun place for him and he enjoys it very much. Until he loses privileges.

He has also discovered "sleeping in the buff". He enjoys eating his breakfast like this.

Until mean old Mommy tells him to get clothes on.

Mr.Messy is very smart. Along with reading like a 10 year old, he also knows all about trucks and machinery. He knows how to push his little brother's buttons and he also knows how to stick up for himself when his little brother makes him angry. He is so smart that he knows exactly what to say to upset his Mom and hurt her feelings. Things like "I hate you" and "You're the meanest Mom ever" are things I hear on a regular basis.

Fun times my friends. Fun times.

My boy enjoys photography. After teaching me how to use the camera I have owned for 4 years, he decided that it is now his camera and takes pictures wherever he goes. Like mother, like son.

He also enjoys making videos of himself pretending to drive a dump truck.....but it is really the family minivan. One day I may show you.

My boy loves butter, ranch dressing, peanut butter and milk. He loves ribs, chicken, Hamburger Helper and Caesar salad. He does not enjoy blueberries, raspberries, cucumber or well....anything healthy.

Messy loves staying up late, playing with Hot Wheels cars, sneaking food out of the kitchen and stashing it in his night table drawer.

At 7 1/2 my boy is becoming independent and needing/wanting his mom less and less. He is getting so smart that I am finding it tough to stay one step ahead of him and his new "behaviours".

But I love him.

More than anything.

Even when he tells me he hates me.

Because one day I know he will love me again and be thankful.

Right? Please tell me I am right or I may just run away and never come home........

Say "Cheese".......please.

There once was a young, attractive, marvelous Momma who had three kids.

Three beautiful but difficult children.
She enjoys taking them places, but she doesn't enjoy when they do not listen to her.
It makes taking them places not so much fun.
But she does it anyways because she loves them, wants them to have fun and learn new things.

She tried to get a picture of those beautiful children while out at a fun place.

Then she tried again.

And again minus one child.

Not {My Child} Monday!

Welcome to Not My Child! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else's kids have not been doing this week.

I could write a book. A verrrrrrrry long book on things my children were caught doing.

But I am afraid once people read it, they wouldn't want to be my friend, because, well, my children do some pretty crazy things.

I mean, no they don't. They are well behaved, respectful children who would never do anything to embarrass their poor, tired mother.

Like pulling their pants down and urinating pretty much anywhere outdoors because they are too lazy to find a washroom. They would not do that. Ever.

They also would not find their mother's digital camera and take pictures of each other's behinds. Then giggle as they looked back at their photography. That is wrong. Soooooooo wrong.

Remember, they always behave.

Middle child would never yell "I can see that ladys underwear" as we walked behind her in a store so loud that she turned around and pulled up her pants. If he did, I did not turn as red as a tomato and apologize for his rudeness.

That same child did not throw a cookie at the door out of frustration and then get mad at me when I told him to clean it up. The nerve huh?

Princess does not chew on her dirty sandals. Nope. Never. And if she did, I would not continue to allow her to do it because it is keeping her quiet...and happy.

And she most definitely does not rip out pages of every single book she gets her hands on. She knows that books are to look at...not to destroy.

That's it. That's all for today. Next chapter coming soon.......

Do you still want to be my friend????
