To My Son
© Amy R. Campbell
Oh how the years go by,
Oh how time can certainly fly.
From once just a thought in far away dreams,
now into my arms and in my eyes gleam
the presence of you.
Your laughter and smiles
which go on for miles,
warms my heart and soul.
You're growing up so fast,
as I wish each moment with you to last forever.
My little boy will someday be a man
and right by your side I will forever stand.
I will pick up the pieces when you fall,
I will hold your hand and help you stand tall.
And when the day comes when you are on your own,
never feel that you are alone.
No matter how near or far apart
I am always right there in your heart.
Always remember whatever you go through
that no matter what, I will always love you.

Happy 6th Birthday Rowdy!

Capturing Colour

I am crazy for colour.
It makes me feel happy.
Especially in January when I am suffering from the winter blues.
So when I saw the challenge for this week, I had to get in on the fun.
Not only because I love taking pictures, but also because it reminds me to appreciate the small {colourful} things that surround us at this depressing time of the year

What has happened to me??

Before the New Year arrived, I planned on making huge changes to my lifestyle.
And I have.
I am in my fourth week of this huge lifestyle change and have never felt better.
Honest.
I have lost 8 pounds.
15+ inches.
Can run 2 miles and not feel like I am dying after.
Really.
Crazy huh?

When I entered this "change of life", I prepared myself for alot of change.
What I didn't prepare myself for was the many new foods and textures I would be eating.
I have serious texture issues my friends.
So when I saw cottage cheese, oatmeal and smoothies in the recipes, I threw up a little in my mouth.
Ok, alot.
Ew.

I am now eating tofu {in smoothies}.
Soy nuts.
Wasa bread.
Veggie Ground Round.

And you know what?

I actually like it all.

Unplanned, purposeless thoughts aka random Tuesday

randomtuesday

Honestly, I could write a random thoughts post for every day of the week because my mind is full of them.
Random.
Unplanned, purposeless thoughts roaming through my Mommy-mush brain.
I am full of them.

*Like just the other day while I was jogging down our dead-end country road. I was paying close attention to the forest beside me looking for a coyote peering out from amongst the trees. And I had it all planned out how I was going to take the bugger down and be some sort of hero if he came near me. Really.

Then I was trying to figure out what I would do if I saw a bear.

I didn't come up with anything except scream, run, cry and poop my pants.

*I asked my boys why they are so fascinated with their private parts. Their answer was "I don't know" as they flashed me. I have learned that being a female, I will never....ever understand the male gender. Ever.

*I have lost 8 pounds. And I am constipated. So I have probably lost 12 pounds but am so bunged up that I am keeping the weight on. It makes me want to eat a Big Mac, large Coke and a Kit Kat. Firstly, because they taste good. Secondly, because I am depressed. And thirdly, because I will probably poop after eating them!

*I still think the Bachelor is a dork

*I am still wondering how Tiger Woods is doing. Geesh, he must be so embarrassed

*My children have a laundry basket in their room. It is not a decoration or a door stopper. It is there for them to put their dirty clothes in. They haven't caught on after 6 and 8 years. See?

*We have three {live} bunnies and a dog. The children do not enjoy taking care of them and whine and moan every time they have to provide food and love. But when they make paper fish, they spend every second of their evening feeding them invisible food and telling them how much they love them. Baffling isn't it?

Happy Tuesday folks!!!!!

Sometimes you capture moments that will bring a smile to your face for the next 50 years. I did that today.

I have no words.
None.
Nada.

Do you?
How would you title this sequence of pictures of my dear, dressed-up daughter?

Disney in Pictures. Volume 3 of 47

Wordful Wednesday brought to you by this fabulous gal!

Ok. I know I went to Disney over a month ago.
But I took 895 pictures and I have to show more than just this and this.

Each park had their own wonderful qualities but I especially loved Epcot for the buildings. Sure, they aren't original and historic but they were darn pretty and I found myself snapping away at windows, doors, bricks and bridges. Just because.

Architectural Digest...I am available for hire to take pictures of "pretty buildings".

After a month, I have finally figured out why I enjoy taking pictures of this sort of thing. They aren't people. So they don't move. They don't whine and make funny faces. They don't cover their faces or run away and say "That's enough! No more pictures!". I can snap 276 pictures of the same thing until I get the picture I love.

And no one talks back.

That's why.
