Shame on Me

I am reluctant to admit that I have been going tanning. I know, I know. It is soooooo bad for me and I will age early and be diagnosed with some awful "c" word in the future.

I know it is wrong.

I do not want to age early.

I really do not want to be diagnosed with an awful, horrible...well....you know. I don't even like to write the word.

My hubby was diagnosed with the "c" word 7 years ago. Not fun.

But, tanned skin hides cellulite.

Tanned skin hides stretch marks.

Tanned skin makes me feel 100% better about myself.

I look in the mirror and think "Ok, Momma, you don't look that horrible."

Some people go on drastic diets, or obsessively exercise. Some people have plastic surgery. Some people live unhappy.

I will live tanned. Until the fall.

Because it is wrong to look orange when there is no sun.

Oh, and apparently after going tanning and spending the day outdoors in hot sunny weather you can start to look like this

I should know better.

No tanning for awhile.

I don't want to look like this.

No lectures please. I have learned my lesson.

Have you tried spray tanning? It might help, but then again it's not the same like feeling the sun on your skin.

No judging going on over here...as long as you promise not to look at my white legs and laugh!

I tanned for a few weeks before my sister's wedding in December. I loved it. It was a nice, quiet, relaxing 15 minutes each day. It was warm, and yes...tanned fat looks much better than white fat.
But I also felt guilty and bad every time I did it. So no more tanning for me. *sigh* Stupid c word.

Ahhhhh those little secret, well ok, not so secret since you posted it here, but those little pleasures in life that just make us feel good.

Sometimes you just have to do it, honestly, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow, but at least you'll look good right???

(that bus remark...yeah...that one, it was supposed to make you laugh ... did it?)

Living in Florida, we go have screenings twice a year - and always have at least one spot that has to be removed. Sun Screen is a daily ritual for me. Even without it I never have tanned much, so it's no real loss. Anyway, pale is supposed to be "in" these days!

I am too afraid of wrinkles to tan ... but if I could only tan my legs and butt and not look funny I would seriously consider it! I like the idea of hiding any skin blemishes. :)
