I am not a complainer.
Maybe it is because I hear it all day, every day from my own kids that I am too kind to put anyone else through it. Or maybe it is because I am so sick of hearing high pitched whiny voices that I would rather stick needles in my ears than listen to more.
Or maybe its because I am a grown, mature woman.
Kinda.
But................
I do have one complaint.
Just one.
I would like to give a lesson in Cart Courtesy.
When you go to a store and must use a cart, please be prepared to follow the Cart Courtesy Rules.
*Walk down one side of the aisle...preferably the right. Do not push your cart down the middle of the aisle and expect everyone else to stop and practically knock over shelves to get by.
*If you must stop to browse, make sure that your cart is over to the one side so there is plenty of room for other cart-users to get by. If, by chance, you forget, that is ok. But when you see someone approaching, be courteous and move your cart. Do not stand there browsing at the taco mixes pretending you do not see or hear the other people waiting to get by.
*An apology would be nice too. Just sayin'.
*Do not cut other people off because you are in a hurry to browse the laundry detergent section. Do not cut people off ever.
*If you are purchasing a large item, place it at the bottom of the cart rather than upright in the cart so it restricts you from seeing in front of the cart. I don't appreciate Cart Crashes in Aisle 11.
*And last but not least, do not put your large children in the cart and allow them to stand up while you push it. FYI, it is dangerous and my arm really hurts from catching your child as he tipped it over.
Thanks muchly.

Oh people in the grocery store! My other favorite is on Saturdays (busy day at the grocery) people make these big circles at the ends of isles and stand there and talk and seem put off when you ask them to move out of the way....soooo annoying!
How about the people who talk on their phones while the shop, ignoring everyone else and all cart etiquette? Then they are annoyed at you for interrupting their phone conversation with your kind request to move their cart!
Just goes to show how self-centered our society is becoming.
Maybe you can send this to the major grocery chains and they can post this by the cart carosel? Just a thought.... ;)
Oh, yes, I think this would be great posted in the stores, maybe at the end of every Isle!
Good one, I hate it when people just stand there in the middle of the isle that they are the only person in the whole store.
Seriously! Some people are so oblivious! I love when they stand in the middle of the aisle with their cart & stare at the various brands of ketchup while you're standing there, politely, waiting on them to realize you're there. Or when they can't figure out which milk to buy. THEY'RE ALL THE SAME! Grab & go! I am petite & have ridiculously scrawny arm muscles, but I ALWAYS wrestle my cart to the side of the aisle to let people by - even if I look like a fool doing it! There should be a class on cart etiquette that's mandatory.
I think these need to be enforced. I would pay a little more to have cart police.
Can we also add put your cart in the cart return, not wedged between my car and yours or in the empty spot next to you that is now unusable.
This is the main reason I hate to go to Costco. All the carts blocking the aisles while people hoard in to get a sample of canned tuna--LAME!
OK, the cart tipping over sounds like a TST. I think these rules need to be posted in every single store that has carts.
Amen. That's all I can say - AMEN.
This is a perfect post! LOVE IT! Can I print it out and post it above the carts? And if you caught my kid with a tipping cart not only would I be embarassed but extremely grateful! Hope they were as well!
you for interrupting their phone conversation with your kind request to move their cart!
