2011.
I remember thinking that two thousand anything was such a long ways away, and here we are in 2011.
Unfreakingbelieveable.
Excuse me while I have a moment.
*sniff*
I have been thinking alot.
About the 5 pounds I have put on in the last 2 weeks.
My life.
Chocolate.
Why the Kardashians are so famous.
And this blog.
I feel like I have been losing my writing mojo.
My enthusiasm for writing.
And I have forgotten why I started this blog in the first place.
I started this blog as a way to get my thoughts out.
To retain my sanity on my journey as a Mother.
To share the stories.
The memories.
And because I enjoy writing.
That is why.
Not to get hundreds of followers.
Or to make people like me.
Because we all know that everyone already does.
Ahem.
So for 2011, I am not going to feel pressure.
I am going to write.
Photograph.
Share stories.
Maybe even discuss more serious stuff that my family is going through.
I am just going to get my motor running and let my writing take me where it wants to.
And if so-and-so doesn't like what I have to say, that is OK.
Because this is my place.
And this is my journey.
I hope you will join me.
And accept me just the way I am.

Sounds like you and I have arrived at the same blog conclusions! :)
It's hard not to get caught up in the stats and numbers. Right now my Twitter page is jammed with bloggers involved in a chat about how to Grow Their Blog in 2011. I want to jump in and scream, "JUST WRITE WHATEVER YOU WANT! STOP PLAYING SEO GAMES! YOU'RE OVERTHINKING IT!!!"
But...meh. They won't listen. It's something they have to learn for themselves.
My Reader is also full of New Year Blog Resolutions--and every one of them has something about drawing in better numbers. *sigh*
It would be nice... but not worth it to lose your soul in the endeavor. Welcome to the "dark" side of blogging... writing for you. Happy 2011!
BRAVO! I will still be here!
Of course, I'll be here. This is a nice place to be. And numbers? Well, they are only numbers and pretty much meaningless. For me blogging has been much more about the connections I've made.
Amen!
Blogging is about writing for me.
And if you write it and write it well, they will come. :)
I love the new you and the new you sounds a lot like the new me. I think our relationship will thrive this year. :)
You had me at "Pull Your Hair Out." HAPPY NEW YEAR! And thanks for your candid and honest blog. I appreciate that more than you know.
The honest, down to earth blogs about real life are the best ones in my book.
Happy 2011!
Good for you ... I think the key to longevity in blogging is to do what you really want to do. Looking forward the "new you."
