Rural Randomness

*One month ago today my Daddy left this world to go to Heaven. I am trying my hardest to get through this day without completely losing my shit.

*Today is oldest child's first track and field day. He is running in many of the races because that's what he enjoys. Weirdo.

*I have spent the last 2 afternoons pulling dandelions when all I really want to do is drown my sorrows with bon bons and alcohol.

Ok, just bon bons.

*15k ran by me in the last three days. My body hurts. I am old.

*Smokey is still pregnant. Anyone want a kitten soon?

*This weekend could be "vegetable garden planting weekend" and I am so frickin excited!!!!!

*What kind of tree should we plant in my Daddy's memory on our property?

*Iphone or Blackberry???

*Ike and Duke enjoy sunning themselves. We came home recently to find Ike sprawled out in the pasture. He did not move when we slammed our car doors.
I panicked.
It is official.
I love the horses.
And couldnt imagine them not with us.
Ike was just resting and was not happy with me after I made him walk around with me for the next 10 minutes.

Lazy bum.

*Studley likes to sleep under the trampoline in the shade.....with Smokey the cat. One day I will get a picture.

*I miss my Daddy.

*My Grandma {and Mom} rode an ATV recently. I think the family should chip in to buy them each their own so they can go for Sunday rides through the property. Just sayin'.

*I am going for a physical today. I actually had to write a list of my concerns to discuss with the doctor. Another sign I am old......and forgetful.

*Captures from our family hike on Mothers Day which was also my birthday, but I like to forget about my birthday as I get older........without my Daddy.

That's all I got for today folks.
Send bon bons and hugs so I can get through this day.
Maybe I can ask the doctor to increase my happy pill dosage.
*sniff*

So glad Ike is okay. My horses have done that to me before - scared me like that!

beautiful images...sorry about your dad :(

my bucky did that to me once. he would not get up or move and my heart was sinking with every step closer to him...finally i got within arms reach and he just turned around and looked at me but still didn't get up...let me just hang out and pet him then he lazily got to his feet...silly horses!

Sending hugs! So sorry about your dad, I can only imagine how hard that must be. My little brother died a couple years ago (age 16) and the cycle of grief was almost overwhelming. I'll be praying for you. Here's a suggestion for your garden- plant an iphone tree and a blackberry bush ;)

iPhone. I've had both and it is superior to the blackberry.

I *should* vote Blackberry because I have one and love it. But I am contemplating jumping over to a Droid with my next phone so I might not be the best one to ask.

Lovely photos and amazing thoughts to ponder.

I'd go with the iPhone, as Blackberry hasn't kept up with the newer technology -- I have a Blackberry and it drives me crazy sometimes.

Tree? I love Hawthorns, Red buds, and Aspens -- but it would depend on what does well in your area and where you wish to plant it.

Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursdays this week. :)

Love your last two photos. Seems you could do with lots of good things to come your way soon...was just thinking of my Dad today too, although it's nearly two years now.
