Today

I have been thinking alot.
Maybe it is because I am aging.
Maybe it is because I am tired, sometimes overwhelmed.
I don't know. I need to think about that too.

But I had a moment.
A moment where I reminded myself that we only get to live today once. Never again will we live October 5, 2010. It happens once. So enjoy.

Tomorrow, today will be over.

And I will regret not spending it the way I want to.
I will regret not taking the time to listen to my children.  I will regret not sitting down to "just be".  I will regret forgetting the gift that was given to me.

Today.

Life is too short.
As I get older, I am learning that what I once thought was important and was the key to my happiness, really doesn't matter at all.
I want to live my life simply.  Peacefully.  Slowly.  Happily.

So I will enjoy today.
Because I will never get to enjoy it again.

*I know.  That was deep.*

You aren't kidding that was deep (and utterly beautiful)! And as soon as I get a computer I'm going to print that (if you don't mind) to remind myself of that every day.

Beautiful post. We all need to remember this sometimes. IT's far too easy to get overwhelmed by life!!

Life IS short. And you are right, we only get each day once. It's interesting that sometimes the best way to spend that is cleaning up, or reading a book, or grocery shopping! :P. SOmetimes the best way is to forget all of that mundane stuff and simply enjoy our kids. They are growing up so fast. What a short time, one-day-at-a-time, that we have to soak up our kids' childhoods and these moments in our marriage when we aren't old yet!
