Just Call Me Princess Penelope

Once upon a time, I didn't have any children.
I was married, had a career, came home in the evening to a quiet house.
Watched all of the television shows I wanted.

Now I pretend I am a ladybug with polka dot wings.
Or sometimes I am Tinkerbell and am told exactly how to sprinkle my pixie dust.
Occasionally, I am a butterfly Princess who has to fly around the backyard....
...but I always seem to do it wrong.

Every once in awhile I am just a spectator to the magical stories and imagination.
Or I have to be the one who makes up the stories as the winged Princess flies about.

I have been told that I need to get my own wings because I am not a "litto girrr" anymore.
But mine should be big and yellow.

Once upon a time , I didn't have any children.
But I am sure glad I do now.
I am just a little tired.

And miss watching shows I like to watch.

Do your kids and their friends like to dress up?

Do you participate or are you just a spectator?
Do you have a special name?
Mine is Princess Penelope.
OK, I just made that up.
But it has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

That one shot with the tiara is gorgeous.

Yes, I used to play with mine. But it was "guys" (little action figures) and I ALWAYS had to be the bad guy and MC ALWAYS had to direct me because I wasn't doing it right.

Love these moments! Yes, my boys like to dress up and pretend to be different pirates, Disney characters, and more. When we have time, they often get me into the act as well.

Oh I love this! I don't have any names (that I know of...heh!) but I definitely participate. I love being able to relive my childhood with my kids! :)

Viva Las Vegas… or The Biggest Little City in the World – Reno?

My kids are bigger now, so we don't have princess make believe anymore, but we certainly did! My oldest daughter declared that her name was Madame Butterfly World of the Pretty Things. Never shortened. :)

Cady was a big dresser upper at that age. She's kind of grown out of all her dress up clothes so she doesn't do it as much anymore.

I play along, but don't dress up.

How sweet! I love it! That one shot of her in the tiara is almost magical... I mean it's so "glowy"!

I like watching my kids play their games. It takes up so much energy to actually play their games with them. You know, this is a magical time with your daughter. She will get even more fun as she grows older but this sweet imaginary innocent play is delightful and she'll outgrow it way too quickly!

Our grands love dressing up especially as pirates! ;)
