This post may induce intense feelings of feline love. You may feel the need to go out right now and find yourself a 5 week old kitten...or twelve. You may want to come to my house for a cuddle and a nuzzle.....with the kittens. You may never want to leave.
Hubby found the kittens the other night while feeding the horses. He heard scratchy, scratch noises above him in the loft of the barn and went up to find the precious, perfect almost 5 week old kitties.
Amen.
Hallelujah.
My life hasn't been the same since.
I have avoided all responsibility and spent my days cuddling, "oooo-ing" and "aww-ing". I spend my evenings making weird noises to get the babies to come over to me.
And they do.
I am completely in love and thank Smokey every day for being a female instead of a male. I thank her for taking such good care of her littles and give her much lovin' to show her that I still love her just as much.
God help me.
What have I become?
Those slimy little rodent-looking things just a few weeks ago have now turned into fluffy, chubby adorable kittens with lots of personality.
Princess has named them. This one is Melva. I love her.
She has a small white mark under her chin and on her belly. She cuddles and hangs out with humans because she knows we are nice. She goes on little adventures through the barn all by herself because she is independent. She doesn't follow the others. She does her thing whether they are around or not.
This is Taily. Not sure if I love the name because I feel she deserves a name like Rascal, but it will do for now.
She hisses when you come near her but puts up no fight when you pick her up. She is a loud squawker but quiet once comfy on your lap.
She is a bit more shy then the other two, eats enough for the three of them and is never far from her Momma.
She has the most perfect face and roly poly body.
And then there is Kaylee. Not a fan of this name and I am trying my hardest to change Princess' mind.
But she is stubborn.
Kaylee has a bit more white under her chin and on her belly, but her personality matches her other black sibling.
Except she enjoys eating kitty litter.
Weirdo.
I don't know if you have ever watched a Mommy cat with her kittens, but it is probably the sweetest thing I have ever witnessed. Mommy "talks" to them with a quiet purr/meow noise when they are scattered through the barn. Each one quickly comes right over to Mommy where they are greeted with a few licks and more purrs. She then leads them all into their special hiding spot as they toddle behind her. When they are out adventuring, she sits in the middle and supervises to make sure all is OK.
Completely amazing.
I am becoming the Crazy Cat Lady.

Oh such cuties!
Fantastic photography and texture!
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Sooo cute and sweet. I just love kittens. I have two just a few weeks older and a grown cat. Thanks for sharing them.
I hear you on all of this! My Daughters cat gave birth to 5 sweet little kitties 8 weeks ago. It has been so interesting n enjoyable to watch the interaction between Mother n babies. Each kitten has its own unique personality. Now its time to find them good homes...makes me sad to see them go..n can't help wonder how the mom feels having her babies taken away from her. You pics are so cute.
Haha she likes to eat kitty litter. I just got a new kitten 2 weeks ago and she sleeps all night and then when we wake up she goes absolutely berserk making noises and climbing curtains..
They are adorable! I love that roly poly tabby baby!
Oh my stars they are adorable! I love them too.
But I have to ask, are they all going to live with you or do you have to find them homes?
Oh, so cute little kitties. Hanne Bente
Please tell me you live very far from Montana (where I am) and you already have homes for all of them. I could easily slip into "I want" mode and there wold be no controlling it - and I already have two cats, so I think I may be on the road to being "that crazy cat lady" too.
These kittens are just adorable!
These kittens are just adorable!
All baby animals are cute in their own way, but kittens are some of the cutest.....
Oh oh oh … I'm so glad you found them … and at the cutest stage ever!! I want one!!!!
Too too adorable!!!!!!!!
Ohhhh.....so sweet!
Makes me want to go outside and say here Kitty Kitty Kitty. Stopping by to say Hi from the blog hop. Come visit sometime, tea is cold and no shoes are required. Kathy B. http://www.southernmadeintheshade.blogspot.com
I know how you feel. We adopted a little 5 week old rescue about 4 weeks ago. She was so tiny. Wait, she's still tiny compared to our 14 year old boy and girl. The fun is just getting started!
I am a cat crazed woman myself so I can totally relate to what you are saying and then oooooooh the shots of these cuties...I am soooo glad I live thousands of miles away else I´d be over there picking one out to join my family:)
