I would take photos of my baby boy every year on his birthday, wearing one of his Daddy's shirts.
Then I had two more children.
And this wonderful idea of mine turned out to be a "job". A "job" that my kids don't enjoy, and, quite frankly, I don't enjoy forcing them to do it.
But I do it anyway, because I started this project 10 years ago and once I start something, I don't quit. damnitalltohell.
So I am months late, but we did it in the year 2012, which is all I care about at this point.
This is what I got.
There was alot of whining
Too much complaining
A few comments about it being "the stupidest idea ever".
Many "ZIP IT AND SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" comments by the photographer.
And some fighting.
But we all survived.
And are thankful that it is done for another year.
One day they will thank me for all of this sentimental crap.
They better.

Totally worth it ALL! ;-D
I've always loved it when you do these photos! It is very clever and totally worth it - though it may not seem like it at the time.
I am a photo taking fool :) and live next door to a photographer so we are always taking pics :)
No, I don't do a yearly photo theme, but think it's a neat idea!! Wish I'd thought of it!
Here's my Question
I think that's a really cute idea and a bit quirky as well!
I'm so bad about doing family photos. But, we do try and get a family picture together for Christmas every year. And, yes...my kids hate it! They are 11, 14, 16, and 19 and they fuss and complain and argue a lot. It's usually quite comical.
Such a fun idea! I love it.
My kids are grown and now those pain in the butt moments are now wonderful memories.
Have a great weekend!

This totally cracked me up! And I LOVE all the shots - they will definitely be fun memories later down the road - and possibly some good blackmail material when they reach dating age. ;)
I wish I had thought of such a brilliant idea! Sadly, my annual pictures are around the holidays, and first and last day of school. At least it's something! :)
Getting all Judgy about Preschool
I've found that the more kids I had the less professional photos I've had taken. :-)

They (and their spouses) will one day thank you for this. It is worth whatever pain you have to go through to do this!
