Jersey. An Update.

I have learned a few things over the last week.
Firstly, I would like to become a veterinarian.
Not only because they get to work with cute animals every day, but also because they get to charge you a ton of money to save your beloved pet baby.

Secondly, I have learned that y'all love me.
You really love me.....
....and Jersey the dog.

I cant tell you how many people have been asking how he is doing after his near death experience last week.

Consider this post your Jersey the Dog update.
You're welcome.

Jersey is alive and well. Too well actually.
What we thought was a fairly calm, cool and collected puppy was actually a sick puppy. Once he felt better, all hell broke loose and he is now trouble!

He chews my toes. Bites at my pant leg. Eats anything he finds on the floor.
He chases the cats. Barks at falling leaves. And enjoys putting his paws in his water bowl.

He is eating!
Amen Hallelujah!!!!!!!
I am sure he has put on 5 pounds in the last few days.

His poop soup has now turned into normal poop which makes me want to clap every time he has a movement.
Movement=poop.

He loves to play with flat balls because he can sink his teeth into them and run.
When he runs, he thinks it is funny to run into the horse pasture and not listen when I call him.
It`s not so funny when Ike the horse comes close though.
I almost had poop soup myself while trying to stop Ike from chasing the little creature at his feet.

So far his short three weeks at our home have been quite the soap opera.
First, coccidia
Then almost trampled by 2000 pound horse.
I swear my life needs to be videotaped.

Thank you for all of your concerns.
I did notice that no one offered to pay our vet bill though.

It`s OK.
I understand.
You're forgiven.

He is Here!

His name is Jersey.
DSC_0385
He was born August 1, 2012.
And came to his life home on September 29, 2012.

We are smitten.
And I think he is pretty happy too.

I was sure I could never love a dog as much as my dear Barron {aka Studley}, but this little guy has quickly taken hold of my heart and squeezed.
DSC_0387
Squeezed so tight, that I am thinking he just might be what I need to smile again.
DSC_0377
Maybe.

Once he is potty trained.

Crap I have learned in the last few days
*No more babies!  I hate potty training.
*No more babies.  I like my sleep.
*I need 5 more just like him.

Help!

We did it.
We bought a puppy.
As excited as I am about it, I know that no dog will ever compare to my dear Studley, so I am a bit sad.
Sad that our Studley story is officially over.
*sniff*

The puppy is less than 4 weeks old so we have another month until he comes to our home forever and ever, but our family is having some disagreements....
...major disagreements.

The name.
So I am bringing it here for all of you to decide for us thankyouverymuch,
Here is the information.
Purebred German Shepherd.
Here is the Mommy.
Isn't she pretty?
She is busy raising 6 busy puppies right now, but still is the prettiest doggy Mama I have ever seen.
And here is the Daddy.
He is pretty famous.
But that doesn't really matter to us.
He is so handsome and friendly that we loved him as soon as we saw him.

Our puppy is a male.
Having 5 people trying to agree on the name is impossible and I fear that our family may go our separate ways before the pup even comes home.
It is such an argument that we may actually decide to divorce each other.

Here are the choices.
*Bronson
*Massey
*Fergus
*Jersey
*Cooper
*Copper
*Sawyer
*Angus
*Guinness
*Tyson

Please....pretty please...I am begging you to give us your opinion and choose only the names I love {which I have been forbidden to divulge}, so I can convince my family that they are the best.  My family wants to name this poor dog "Burger" and I will run away to a deserted island with this dog before that happens.

Once the choices have been narrowed down and we can actually discuss a few names without raising our voices, than I will have a poll here for you to help with the final decision.
Then when we decide, I will send photos of our new baby to all of you because I am nice like that.
You're welcome.
