Aloha Friday-Just between you and me-

I am about to share something that doesnt get talked about very often.

Consider yourself to be on my "in list" because I dont talk about this to just anyone.

Unless you are my hubby. My mother. Or my pedicurist.

Is pedicurist a word? If not, I have dibs on it so dont pretend that you invented it or I will hunt you down and stick my feet in your face.

Anyways, I want to talk about feet.

I do not like feet. They are funny looking and kinda creep me out. They can be stinky. They can be dirty. They can be just plain old ugly.

Unless they are baby feet. That is completely different.

I digress.........

I have feet issues. Genetics has blessed me with dry feet. And other things like cellulite but that is another post for another day. I do not enjoy dry feet one bit. Frankly, it sucks big time and as I get older I am sure it will just get worse.

I have tried everything. Lubing them with petroleum jelly and wrapping them in plastic wrap. Using every "dry foot cream" on the market to find out that they were a complete waste of money. Soaking my feet in an expensive foot bath that even vibrates. Nice, but didnt work.

My solution at the moment is getting a pedicure every 3 weeks. It is a tough solution but seems to be doing the job. Every three weeks I have two hours to myself at a spa and have someone soak, scrape and pretty up my feet.

I know, I know. You feel sorry for me. It is a really hard treatment but I feel it is necessary to cure the painful cracked skin I have been suffering from.

While getting my feet worked over, I get told that there really is nothing I can do to cure my dry feet/cracking till they bleed syndrome. I get told to use some foot salve and scrape my feet every night before bed.

I get told to wear socks. Then I let her know for the 20 millionth time that I do not wear socks. I do not like socks. It is warm weather season and socks do not exist in my wardrobe. She tells me to wear them to bed. I say no.

Same thing, every time.

Then she tells me to wear slippers.

So I do.

And I have been for the last 10 years.

It doesnt work either.

But I still wear slippers.

Do you have a dry feet cure?

Do you wear slippers?

What do they look like?

Are slippers dorky?

I think you found the perfect cure for your dry feet in the pedicure/spa time.

I hate feet. They're gross and textured funny. Except baby feet. I love baby feet. Toddler feet are ok.

Yep. Slippers are dorky. I would still wear them. They are comfy. (Why are so many clothes that are comfy dorky and/or frumpy?) I think your solution sounds nice. :)
I'm sorry that you have to suffer with dry feet though. I don't have any suggestions. It sounds like you've tried just about everything! Maybe another blogger knows of something that will work.

Udder butter/cream and heavy socks.

Dry feet cure - lotion, lotion and more lotion!
I do not wear slippers - I wear wool socks!

I wish I could get a pedicure more often!

I don't have dry feet, but slippers aren't dorky

... I don't think.
Atleast I hope not!

I wear them all the time!

My feet are so dry!! I used to coat them in a heavy cream before bed, which works pretty well, but don't do it for one day and - bam - dry feet. Someone on Oprah said to banish dry feet you should wipe them with a stridex acne pad, let dry, and then coat in heavy cream for the night. And then she said your dry feet would be gone!!! HA! She apparently hasn't met MY feet!

Sorta grossed me out wih your dry feet story...lol...I'm kidding. My feet are fine. I have always taken care of my feet because other people's feet gross me out too! I do wear slippers. They're pink with pink bows and pink fur trim! And nooo they're not dorky!

I can't stand feet. I own a pair of deer skin moccasins/slippers that I love!

I once heard that a person should wear plain white cotton socks and all of his or her foot problems will go away. It might be your answer!
I really love the PedEgg but that's a different story....

I don't like my feet because I think they are too big and not cute, but I've seen cute feet that I like. I will always love baby feet though.

I do have dry feet, but hide them away in socks which makes it worse ten times.

I now use Aveeno on them though. I'm not sure what you mean by slippers, but I do like some kind of sandals.

In the winter I have to have my socks. But as soon as it warms up the socks are gone and I'm barefooted. Dryness that would be my heels. I have never been able to get rid of it. I would love some help to. I try and keep lotion on it.

I've noticed my feet have become dryer since I passed the big Three Oh. :(

I've bought various foot creams over the years and I've noticed some difference if I use them before I go to bed. I too cannot wear socks to bed, when I sleep they need to be free. But I think putting some sort of lotion on them before bed helps anyway, even without the socks.

I have the same problem with my feet and the same problem of hating feet. I have no cure but if you find one, let me know!

My feet are ok. It's my toe nails that bug me! They are a nightmare. I should try a pedicure. When the money starts rolling in I'm going to give it a try.

AudreyO said...

I don't like feet either. I've never had a pedicure. I own slippers :)

Yikes. I have dry feet, too, but luckily they aren't that bad. Yet. I could go with the two hour pedicure that often though! And have you ever seen a dermatologist? I remember having huge foot issues growing up and being told I had "soggy foot syndrome" -- ironic for someone who doesn't sweat, no? -- and being told to do various things that I unfortunately now forget!

I use Jordan Essentials Salt Scrub and Jordan Essentials Shea Body Butter. The Salt Scrub is easy enough to do in the shower or bath, and honestly I don't have to worry about dry spots/callouses anymore.

Check out my blog because I'm having a giveaway! You can win your own products!!

I think the word you were looking for is esthetician but I like your word much better ... pedicurist.

If slippers are dorky then it's you and me together, sister.

What's the big thing on socks that your pedicurist (gosh, I love that word!) keeps recommending them for?

My dry feet cure (for bad cracks too) is Mary Kay's extra-emollient night cream ~ it's the first step of the satin hands pampering set which works awesome as a set too. I am in Ontario also and can set you up for 40% off if you wanted to try it ... no biggie if you want to pass, I know that I have saved many a cracked foot is all.

Great post - I love your humour.
