Time

You know that feeling when you wonder where the time has gone?
I find myself feeling that feeling more and more as I get older.

I feel the same as I did 20 years ago. Just a little wiser.
But everyone around me is getting older.
And crankier.

In my mind, I am still an awkward teenager {with three children and a husband.}
But then I see people the same age as me and wonder what the heck happened to them.

When did they get so old?

Umm...yeah....

I am sure they think the same thing about me.

"Momma sure has aged huh?"
"Did you see how fat Mommas ass is?"
"Boy, she has really let herself go"
"Momma is obviously overwhelmed with her three children"

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
and
Yes.

But she colours her hair regularly.
Is dieting and exercising.
Is working on the sweatshirts and jean wardrobe.
And is overwhelmed with her very hyper, demanding, bratty children.

But one day she will look back on this time and wish she was here again, so it is time to kick herself in the butt and appreciate and cherish this time.

Because, before long she will be wearing diapers and dentures.

Great post! Yes, we all end up where we began: in diapers eating mush. ;)

Just stopping by for a blog visit...you know, the older you get the more you buy in to the saying.."age is mind over matter...if you dont mind it dont matter.."

i am right there with you mama. I always feel like I am still in the teen group. Especially when we are at family gatherings and my mom and her friends are around. So weird to feel like I need permission to do something...lol.

I do the same thing. Look at people my age and think how much they've aged. Then I look in the mirror. Oops.

I never felt like a grown-up until I was forced to watch my Father-in-law pass away. Being a grown-up sucks big time sometimes.

Ahhh! Not the diapers and dentures! Which reminds me, I need to schedule that operation so that I can jump on the trampoline again without peeing my pants!!!

I can so relate to this post. I look around at the 26 year-olds and in my brain I think I still look like them ... when in reality I look like the 33 year-olds. Which isn't so bad in the scheme of time. It's just wierd. Because if I'm only 33 and asking "do I really look THAT old?" when I see other 33 year-olds, what will I be saying when I'm 43? My husband's 89 year-old grandma says that when she looks in the mirror she asks "who IS that old lady?".

And yet, my grandmother had a picture of herself taken at 30 and she looks so young and beautiful. I guess that's about where we are right now. Might as well completely enjoy it!!!!!
