Magic Ike {and Duke}. Sorry...couldnt resist.

You would not believe how many people are waiting on the edge of their seats to view these pictures.
{Not really}

I thought about waiting a week or two just to get people really agitated and anxious, but that's just mean.
And I am not a mean person.
Most of the time.

Anyways, Ike and Duke were in a wedding.

So was my hubby, but I think more people were watching the 2000+ pound beauties even though dearest husband was the best dressed and most stressed out.
Ike and Duke (and my hubby) were in a wedding on the hottest day of the year....with 300+ guests.
DSC_0394
Ike and Duke had to deliver the bride in an antique buggy {it lives in a museum, people} up a very steep hill with 300+ guests watching.
God help me.

Heat+steep hill+300guests+beautifully dressed bride and her parents+2000 pound horses+antique buggy that lives in a museum=ALOT OF STRESS

Have you ever had a moment when you just stand back and wonder how your life has gotten to this point?
This entire day was my very long moment.
DSC_0397
I was putting hairspray in horse tails.
Yes, really.

I was at a wedding, not as a guest, but as a horse owner.
Cuhrazy!
DSC_0430
I was walking up a very steep hill in a fancy dress, dripping with sweat, only to see the horses hopefully not injure anyone.  I mean, the wedding was a beautiful added feature, but for our family, the horses were the main attraction.
DSC_0438
I was worried that the horses might freak out as they passed the many, many well-dressed guests.
Not because Ike and Duke are difficult horses, but because I am the type of person who thinks about the worst possible scenario.
My husband tells me I am a glass half empty kind of gal.
Whatever.

Have I mentioned my husband was driving an antique buggy that had not been driven in many, many years and lives in a museum????
DSC_0386
My boys were my husbands assistants for the day, dressed in fancy schmancy clothing...including a tie.
A tie!!!!!

How has my life gotten here?
Life is weird, isnt it?

Ike and Duke were stars.
My family were pros.
And I was tempted to ask for a bottle of wine {or seven} for myself when it was all done because I was so frazzled....thankful that it was all done....and a huge success.

I think it is a really good thing that Ike and Duke could not see those bows in their tails.

Aside from the girly bows, they looks manly and strong and regal -- perfect for making a bride feel like a real princess on her wedding day. Cinderella could ride in a coach like that!

Wonderful shots of your beautiful horses - and their attendants. What a memorable ride for the bride and groom!

How fun! Thanks for sharing the pictures - how did the bride get the museum people let her use the antique buggy in the first place?

AMAZING!! I love those enormous horses. My Mother-In-Love has Belgian drafts and a Percheron. I'm always amazed at how easy-going her huge "monsters" are compared to the normal filly she has! The entire family looks amazing!!
