Lessons Learned

This weekend was a learning experience.

I learned that I just may actually miss the hockey season. I will not miss the 7 and 8am games but I will miss watching my kids out on the ice.

I learned that it is more difficult to purchase Coke Zero lately. Have they discovered some harmful chemicals that could cause premature death or something? Fill the addicts consumers in please and thank you. Or are the stores just selling out because it is yummy?

I learned that Spring isn't entirely here yet. It is currently snowing outside my window. ARGH!

I learned that hubby is taking me to this show next weekend. I already knew he was the best husband in the world!

I learned that we have duck friends in our back field. I am trying to get pictures to prove that they are making our home their new home.

I learned that the innocent chasing of little girls in the school playground has become more of an issue after a phone call from a teacher.

I learned that our children just may not be perfect after all.

I learned that talking to children about chasing girls/personal space/being uncomfortable/phone call from teacher is very embarrassing for children and to be as understanding as possible while still getting the point across.

I learned that gym teacher and librarian love my children like their own.

I learned that I need to be more diligent as a parent.

I should learn what diligent means before posting it on this blog.

I am willing to learn any suggestions regarding girl chasing in the playground and how to stop/prevent it from happening again. I do not enjoy phone calls from teachers at 9pm on a Sunday night.

Especially because Rock of Love is on television at that time.

Sounds like you learned a lot of wonderful things!
As for the Girl Chasing?----I'm afraid that won't end for quite some time. Maybe you will have to have the "play it cool, and the girls will come to you" talk. LOL (boys)

I don't know. I always thought that girl chasing was normal behavior for little children. My kids love to play "tag" at school. The school my mother taught had forbade tag. Too many legal issues. What kind of a world do we live in where kids can't play tag because of legal issues?

I know that I'm revealing my age - but I was born in 1947. Way back when (before everything was so darned politically correct), we did lots of things that are no longer allowed. Cowboys & indians - gone, tag - gone, Song of The South (Brie'r Rabbit) - gone.

I don't know how you can raise children these days - I have often told my son (he has a boy & a girl) that I don't envy him at all.

Seems to me that this young generation is expected to be miniature adults instead of children. It troubles me. Kids should be kids for as long as possible.

In face - I may grow old, but I refuse to grow up!

I love how Rock of Love takes precedence. I mean that. I do.
