I did something today.
I made a conscious effort to listen to my children.
To give them my full attention.
Sadly, I let myself get caught up with the everyday chaos of living life and then realize at the end of the day that I did not give my kids all they deserve.
Me.
They deserve their Mommas attention.
So I gave it to them.
I pushed my almost 4 year old daughter on the swing and giggled with her as her tummy tickled from going so high.
I played basketball with my two boys and even acted a little goofy.
OK. Alot.
Oldest child told me all about his school day.
I listened.
Middle child told me how to play the game "Grounders".
I told him how I used to play Tether ball and Orange Crush.
He rolled his eyes.
Whatever.
I need to do this more often because sometimes I forget just how much they need their Momma to be "present" in their lives.
How do you keep a balanced life?
Are you "present" in the lives of your children?
Try it out. It is fun.

It's so easy to get caught up in the everyday stuff. Glad you stopped and spent the time "in the moment."
I am still trying to learn how to balance everything!!
I do make sure I make time to give my kids undivided attention - sometimes apparently I annoy Princess Nagger with the extra attention, because she'll ask "Don't you need to blog or something?" when she wants to do her own thing without my interference. ;) But I relish the times she wants to cuddle or play games with me. I know those moments won't last forever! :)
Do You Do Phone?
I think trying to maintain balance in the hustle and bustle of life during the school year is hard for me. I often have to stop and remind myself that the kids will only be this age for so long and to enjoy it.
I was very much into my kids lives while they were growing up. I was also cautious to give them space.
Have a great Friday!

Sometimes we do need to just step back, forget about everything that needs to be done and just 'be' with our kids. I think these are the moments they remember best. Lovely blog. Thanks for linking up with Twinkle in the Eye.
I am constantly working on doing this more often and for longer periods. It can be a struggle sometimes but the feeling when you do it is priceless.
I'm trying to be better about this too. Trying, trying, trying...
I know I'm not as present as I should be. I'm always determined to do better but don't always succeed. But I keep trying.
