75-95

Once upon a time...actually 95 years ago, a boy was born in a far away country.
His family moved to Canada.
He met a nice young girl.
They fell in love and were married 75 years ago.

They had two children.
Their children each had two children.  One of those children being my hubby! And then those children had children.

The family came together to celebrate their 75th anniversary and the "boy's" 95th birthday recently.
Isn't he handsome?

This boy grew up to be a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
The relationship he shares with our children is one that can never be duplicated.
They are his life.
He is a huge part of theirs.

Our family is blessed.

Happy 95th birthday Grandpa!
Happy 75th anniversary Grandma and Grandpa!

3

Today my Princess is 3 years old.
Every year I ask the same questions.
How did this happen?
Where does time go?
And say the same stuff.
They grow up too fast.
I miss my babies.

But the truth is, they will always be my babies.
When they are 3, 7, 9, 25 and even 62.
I will always marvel at their beauty.  Their perfection.
I will always be amazed that I had a part in creating them.
And for the rest of my life I will brag about them every chance I get.
Because they are that special.

Princess had a party this weekend to celebrate her birth.
She chose a summer dress even though it was snowing outside.
She chose to have a pink butterfly "cwip" in her hair.
And told me many times throughout the day that she loves pink and Minnie Mouse.
Phew.

Because her party was bathed in pink.  And Minnie Mouse.
Here are the pictures to prove it.

minnie

I love this girl because she loves wearing dresses.
And nighties.
And always has her sleeves pulled up.

I love this girl because she knows every Disney Princess without ever seeing the movies.
Has an obsession with shoes.
And jewellery.

I love this girl because she tells me she loves me.
And in the next breath lets me know that she "no need help".
She calls Babybel cheese, "circle cheese" and ketchup "dip dip sauce".
bday

I love this girl because she dances and sings whenever she feels the urge.
And lets everyone know that she is "so pretty".
Or maybe that is me.
Because she is.

Not Me! Monday! Surprise Party Edition

Hi.
Momma here. I know. You have missed me. It has been a few days since my last post and I have a good excuse.

Ok, I don't. Because this is Not Me! Monday!

So these are the things that I have not been up to.

I did not go into the hair salon Friday night with brown hair and blonde highlights, and walk out as a redhead. Nope. Not me!

I most definitely did not spend the last month planning a surprise anniversary party for my parents. 27+ people in my home, 5 days before Christmas to surprise my parents for their 35 years of marriage. Nope. It didn't happen.

Ok, it did and it was fantabulous!

I did not tell my parents that I was preparing a turkey dinner {my first} and research "turkey cooking" online and at the stores so I had some idea about what I was telling her.

But if I did, it was genius of me. I know.

My parents were not completely shocked and freaked out when they walked in our door and found 27+ faces yelling "Happy Anniversary"!

The first words my mom said were not "I need to go home and change" because she isn't that concerned about how she looks. At least she was wearing a bra!

Seeing the smiles on my parents faces and seeing many loved ones all together in our home did not make me teary-eyed more than once.

{Ok, it did.}

{I have already received the best Christmas present.}

Spring Fling Time!

Get out your party duds!
Put on your fancy shoes.
Dig out your frilly dresses!

It is time for a fling!

(Not that kind of fling.)

SITS Spring Fling!

I know it is exciting.

Take a deep breath.

Prepare yourself.......

for Momma's first giveaway!!!!!!!

While preparing for this big event I had many ideas planned. There were so many wonderful things I wanted to do. So many great items I wanted to give away.

I waited.

And waited.

But no one offered anything for me to give to my loyal followers. Geesh. I thought Etsy shops would overload my Inbox wanting me to give their products away. I thought apron-makers would beg me to show off their product since I love aprons so much.

Nope.

None.

Reality has hit me hard. Momma isn't popular in the blog world (yet).

Add that to my (very long) list of "Things to Do".

But while I am still unpopular I do have something to offer my loyal readers because I love them. And appreciate them. And want them to keep coming back.

Please.

For this special occasion I am offering this fabulous Magnetic A to Z Activity Book.
I don't know about your kids but my children love anything magnetic and if they can learn and use magnets while doing it, well, I am all for it!

Rules for this giveaway.

Leave a comment. That's all. Pretty easy right? If you become a follower, let me know and I will give 2 extra entries. If you are already a follower, you are automatically entered because I love you and I am nice that way. I will randomly pick a number tomorrow at noon and post it here. The winner has 24 hours to contact me with their information.

Good luck!
