Finding Balance in Your Life as a Parent

scale
Two words.
Not.Possible.
Sure, I could give you a big speech on how to put yourself first and do things you love. I could tell you how to get help from others and take turns babysitting the neighbourhood brats so you can get out of the house.
I could tell you to hire cleaning ladies and admit to yourself that it is OK to have unfolded laundry. I could even tell you to make lists, use coupons, prepare weekly meal plans and give your kids chores.
But I wont.
Because none of it works and no matter what you do to balance your life, shit always happens and the balance doesn't exist.

You're welcome.

When I first had kids, I bought books on balancing because I was going to balance like a rock on a log! Money well wasted. Good advice.

You are right. It isn't about being balanced so much as it is about being a balancing act ... on a tightrope. :) (And taking lots of vacations.)

Very true! I reading a book this year called 'Find Your Strongest Life' by Marcus Buckingham. He suggested that our life shouldn't be balanced but that we should spend more of our time doing our strengths. Ever since reading that book, I can't think about having a balanced life quite the same! (And I know that when you're a momma, the majority of your time isn't spent necessarily on your strengths, either)

Cute post! Visiting from Mama Kat's!
