Random

The last few days can just go bite it.
The weather.
My lumpy, bumpy body in a bathing suit.
My children growing up.
I want to go back to summer 2010 please and thank you.

*Today it was so cold and windy and snowy that I could only see a few feet in front of my vehicle. As I drove my shitmobile to do groceries I was wondering why the hell I was driving to the grocery store on such a craptastic day. I mean, really, we couldve survived 24 more hours without some raspberries and hummus.

It was a stupid idea.
Except I really wanted hummus.

*This

*The boys told me they don't believe in the Easter Bunny/Santa/Tooth Fairy and I almost did the ugly cry.  I have dreaded this day since 2002, and, then, in a casual conversation it came up.

Like I said.
Lets go back to 2010.

*Sometimes I feel guilty when the horses are outside in the cold.  But then I see them run and play and then they run away from me when I come to the barn door which tells me they are happy.
Happy horses make me happy.

*While at the waterpark the other day when I looked all lumpy, bumpy and cottage-cheesey, I glanced at my three babies and noticed something.
They aren't babies anymore and it makes me sad.

And then I thought about the fact that I carried each of them inside my imperfect body.....
and how perfect all three of them are....
and that maybe its OK my body doesn't look like a supermodel.....
....because my body made this.
And that's all that matters.

Wow.
That was deep.

Looking for a silver lining.....

Dear Mother Nature.
Right now, I hate you.
Love Momma

*For the last 4-5 days, it has been around -20 degrees Celsius.  One day it felt like -35.  Do you realize how cold that is?
It is so cold that my boogers froze almost instantly.

*It's so cold that my piece of s^%$ vehicle wont start and hasn't started for almost 4 days.
I am a prisoner in my own home and I am about to lose my effing mind.

*My kids have had indoor recess at school for days which means they are going stir crazy, which means they are driving me to pull my hair out strand by strand.
True story.
I hid in the bathroom for a very long time yesterday pretending that I was experiencing a case of poop soup when really I just wanted to get away from the little shitheads fighting.

*The horses don't want to be outside.
There is bunny poop at every door to the house because I think the poor buggers are trying to break into the house during the night.
The cat{s} are nestled in the hay to keep themselves warm.
And I have a cough.

*The silver lining to this piece of crap weather???
Its so cold that Jersey the dog doesn't even want to run away.
And we can have an ice rink on our back field.

Maybe "hate" is a strong word.
I guess you're OK..

A Winter Walk

Things I love when walking around the property in knee deep snow and minus zero (Celsius) temperatures.
The scenery.

The crunch sound the snow makes as I take each step.
The sound of the wind blowing through the open field.

Snowmageddon Happened Outside my House

.....and many other houses throughout Canada on Friday.

Truthfully I hate the term "Snowmageddon" or "Snowpocalypse" and even "Snowzilla", but felt the need to use one for a huge dramatic effect.

Us Canadians are used to snow, ice, freezing temperatures and, well, just craptastic weather from November until April.

But when it snows for 24+ hours straight, dumping 40+ centimetres, I feel the need to yell "F*^K this S#(T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The kids and animals loved it though.
So I watched from the door and snapped away.

Dear Blog Readers
Do you live somewhere warm?
Can I come visit?

Frosty

It happened.
The negative temperatures.
That means below 0 degrees Celsius.

Hold me.
Winter is on it's way.

I hate winter.
Boots.
Mitts.
Hats.
Everything about it.

Except it looks pretty.

Do you enjoy winter?
Warm weather or cold weather makes you happy?
Know anyone in Florida who needs a house sitter for the winter?

An Island Life

A lovehate relationship

I have always claimed to love the autumn season.
The crisp, cooler weather that allows me to hide my "afterbirthingthreechildren" body.
The colours.
DSC_0336
The scents.
Boycotting shaving my legs and armpits.
Crock pot meals.
Pumpkin-y and caramel-y and cinnamon-y candles flickering throughout the house.

The season is one I look forward to all year.

But when the wind and rain come, knocking down all of the beautiful leaves

When there are frost warnings and heavy snowfalls not too far away

Autumn can just go suck it.
I am ready to move south.
