Random Photos. Random Crap.

Howdy doody!
Guess what time it is?
Are you ready?
Hold on to your granny panties, because it is time for random crap.

EEP!
The excitement is too much for you to handle, isn't it?

This week has been pretty uneventful.
Hubby is still working non-human hours, so, it's just me and the kids....and Jersey the dog....and the horses.....and.....umm, you get the jist.

Last week I told you I was addicted to Breaking Bad, but I forgot to mention my other favourite show.
Catfish.
OHMYGAWD, people. You must watch it.
Then you must question and be suspicious of anyone on the computer because they are probably not who you think they are.
I mean, for all you know I could be a 67 year old single man who lives in Tokyo.
It freaks my freak out to see how dumb people are.
They love people they have never met in person. They send these people money and naked photos.
Cuh-razy.

Dear Child of Mine
When I asked if your pregnant supply teacher was young, you told me no.  Then you said she was about my age.
Ouch.

This is what I want to do when my favourite song comes on.
Ok, I totally do that.

Oldest son is almost 12 and I am pretty sure that hormones are taking over his body.
This scares me.
This makes me want to run away for a few years.
I am thinking about starting a support group for parents of children going through puberty.
I will serve alcohol and bon bons.
Who is in?

There was a snake in my grandma's basement on Thanksgiving day.
I peed my pants a little when my brave Uncle brought it upstairs to show everyone.
Dear Grandma.
I love you, but I will never, ever go in your basement again.

November is coming up soon.
Stuff happening in November.
My 13th wedding anniversary.
Trip to Disney.
Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Learn about it. Then we can talk about it, because it is an evil monster that needs to be cured.

Random Photos. Random Words. And people without teeth.

I am thinking of turning this blog into some sort of random nonsense kinda place, because, well, that's all I write about.
This could mean a few things.
My life is so boring that I really have nothing to talk about.
Um...yeah....that's all I can think of.

So, lets chat about Breaking Bad.
Holymotherofgoodpeople this show is effing amazing.
I now know why everyone talked about it for years when I didn't have Netflix and was too cheap to spend $8/month.
It wasn't until all of the hype about the finale, that I finally convinced myself to get it, and now I cannot stop watching it.
I want to watch it all day.
I want my children to go to bed at 630pm so I can watch it.
I want it to come back for 20 more seasons please and thank you.

My boys recently won more awards at school because they are the best kids to ever walk this Earth.
I took my good camera with my awesome zoom lens and this is the photo I got.
Apparently I embarrass them or something.
DSC_0596

My daughter has no top teeth.
OK, she has a few, but not many in the front.
Please send the Tooth Fairy some $$$ as she is broke.
And send the poor kid some pudding and jello because she cant chew anything.
DSC_0525

P.S. Don't ever google "People with no top teeth". I am scarred for life.

Dear Ellen DeGeneres
When I told my children you were 55 years old, they were shocked.  They thought you were 27, because you don't have any wrinkles or gray hairs and you dress cool and dance alot.  I think this is a sign that you should invite us to your show and maybe even to your house for some dinner and a board game.

This weekend is Thanksgiving for us wonderful peeps up here in Canada.
I am thankful for Ritz crackers.
Redken hair products.
Comfy pants.
Pumpkin scented candles.
And all that other mushy stuff.

Happy weekend y'all!

Barn Charm

One of my most favourite things to do in life is go for a family boat ride around the lake that I consider my Heaven on Earth.
We load up the children, the dog, the Grandma and the towels and make ourselves comfortable for the tour.

The tour is short at the beginning as we have to stop in the middle of the lake, so the children can go for a swim.
Sometimes I join them, but it has to be just the perfect temperature for me to plop myself into a large body of water inhabited by fish and other scary water creatures.

I'm a wimp.
Don't judge.

Anyways, as we journey around the lake, we fantasize about owning a cottage.
We point out the cottages that we love and wish we owned.
But usually they cost over one million dollars.

So we dream.
I would love a place with a nice dock littered with colourful Muskoka chairs and flower-filled planters.
I would love a place with an entire wall of windows facing the water.
Indoor plumbing would be good.
And maybe even a water trampoline for the children {and me} to play on.

But convincing my husband to move to a waterfront home is a tough sell because he loves his horses so much and would never leave them behind.
But then I saw this.......

A barn. With a waterfront view.
Perfect.
Now, we just need to win the lottery.

Lake Louise

I am going through severe Mountain Withdrawal.
I am convinced it it is a real sickness.
One that people {who experienced the beauty and freshness just a few weeks earlier,} suffer from when they go back home to boring flat land.

I love Ontario, but nothing compares to the beauty of the mountains.

I am convinced Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places in the entire Universe.
As I walked along the trails surrounding the icy, blue/green water of the tiny lake, I wondered if Heaven looked like this.
I wondered if my Daddy was in Heaven looking at a similar view.

It was a nice feeling.

Other things I thought about.
How cold is that water?
What does it look like here in the winter?
I really should have wore more appropriate footwear.
DSC_0874
I wonder if people have their ashes scattered here when they leave this world.
I would like to live here until I leave this world.
DSC_0879
I hope we don't run into a hungry bear.
I am hungry.
DSC_0883
Add "Travel through Canada in an RV" to my Bucket List.
Next time go hiking with Bear Spray.
And snacks.
DSC_0886
My shoulder hurts.
I need to purchase a smaller camera to take hiking.
DSC_0888
But, no camera photographs could ever compare to seeing this view up close in real life.

Mountains and more mountains..............

This post will forever be known as "The Post with a Million Mountain Photos".
So, last week I totally did the "Wifely Duty" of tagging along with hubby on a business trip.
Too bad I didn't wear fancy dresses, lots of makeup and accompany him to business dinners while there.
Instead I did the tourist thing and wandered around with my camera in hand.
And I got lost.
In a big city.
Alone.

But anyways......

I will tell you about that later.

Let me first tell you about Banff, Alberta.
OHMYEFFINGGAWWWWWWWD!
I don't like to brag, but my country is probably more beautiful than yours.
I thought that before, but, after seeing Banff, I now know it is true.

The mountains.
The quaint shops.
The rocky bridges.
The trees.
The fresh air.
The green trees.

Perfection, people.
Go there.
Tomorrow.

Banff is now officially one of my favourite places in the world.

Stuff that happened while we were there.
* we rented a blue Mustang and drove around like we were uber cool 20 year olds away from their parents for the first time ever. {FYI I have never used the word "uber" in my life, until now}
* I ate steak 3 days in a row
DSC_0803
* I searched for bears and moose and mountain goats
* But only saw deer
DSC_0810
* We were surrounded by Asians. Apparently the entire population of Korea vacationed there at the same time as us.
* I was complimented on my perfume by the translator of a Korean man who wanted the name of it so he could buy it for his wife.
* Name of my perfume? Japanese Cherry Blossom.
True.
I couldn't make that shit up if I tried.
DSC_0822
* We went on a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain. I clenched my sphincter the entire time, terrified we were going to die.
* We didn't.
DSC_0811
* But we almost froze to death.
Note to self. When going to the top of a mountain, dress appropriately.
Even the Asians knew that.
DSC_0834DSC_0836
* I decided I need to learn how to ski and golf
* And that I need to move there
* But then I saw the real estate prices
So I think we will just visit.
DSC_0839
Do you have a Bucket List?
Add this destination as a place to see before you die.
And take me as your tour guide.

Coming up on the blog....

Lake Louise. Holy Mackerel it is a beauty.
Calgary and the hidden world's inside it.

Stay tuned.

Smokey and the Woodpecker.

I am a cat person.
Let me rephrase that.
I am a barn cat person because cleaning litter boxes is probably the grossest thing a human can do.

One benefit of country living is having an unlimited supply of outdoor space for cats to do their business.
Just sayin.

I am not a bird person.
Let me rephrase that.
I am not a bird person unless there is a woodpecker on our property providing me with wonderful photo opportunities.

Another benefit of country living is having an abundance of trees for birds to sit in so I can take their picture.

The cats appreciated the bird sighting too.
DSC_0547
But I am sure it was for a different reason.
DSC_0546

Country living is never boring.

****Public Service Announcement. No birds were harmed in the capturing of these photos. Birds are much faster than cats. Just in case you weren't sure.
