Boys in Goggles.

So, it has become a yearly event to take pictures of my boys wearing swimming goggles.
Why?
I don't know.
Because it is so unbelievably cute and funny I guess.

I mean, really.
Look at this.

Cute and funny, right?

Ten Reasons Why I Love These Photos.
Just because.
1. They have their arms around each other without any punching, pinching or hitting involved.
2. They were captured at my favourite place in the world.  The family lake shore.
3.  A smile.
4.  And a funny face.  Very typical of each child.

5.  The ears.  OMG!
6.  Pure joy.
7.  Exactly 32.5 seconds after these photos were taken, one pair broke and I got yelled at for buying "cheap goggles".  Whatever.
8.  Natural, spontaneous poses make me so giddy I could squeal.
9.  My kids are handsome.
10. My kids are still kids and sometimes I need to see photos like this to remind me how precious these years are and how important it is to breathe in the little moments.

Sometimes photos can be misleading. Especially when they feature my children.

I bet when you look at these photos, you think...

AWholeBunchofStuff

Summer is a whole bunch of fun, isn't it?
It would be even better if I had the body of a Victoria's Secret model, but, its just not gonna happen and I am slowly coming to terms with it.
Anyways, we have been spending alot of time at the beach.
The private-family-owned beach that is so much better than the busy-neverknowhereyourchildrenare-beach.

Stuff my kids do at the beach.
*jump
*yell
*swim until their skin is wrinkled
*jump some more
*yell some more

Another "first" successfully accomplished.

Confession time.
I am happy summer holidays have finally begun.
Whatishappeningtome???????

I know.
My kids are finally at an age that I enjoy.
Most of the time.
They are finally at an age when they can do alot for themselves and don't need Mommy for absolutely everything.
As much as I love the baby stage, I really like right now.

Anyways.....
the first weekend of summer vacation was spent at my favourite place in the Universe.
I will admit I was very anxious/apprehensive/sad to spend time there without my daddy, but sucked up the tears and successfully made it through another "first".

Yay me!
Yay Mom!
Yay family!
We did it.......
but yes, I still looked many times to see if dad would be pulling up on his motorcycle. I did think of dad complaining about barking dogs every time Studley barked at nothing. I did want to see dad sitting in his lawn chair with his shorts, collared tshirt, white socks and sneakers. I missed sitting with him on the boat.

But I am sure he was there.

There is no way he would miss out on the fun.

Just because he wasn't there physically, doesn't mean he wasn't there....

I mean, really......there is no way he would miss out on his son doing this.
DSC_0133
And his granddaughter doing this for the very first time.

He was there.
And that is why we pushed ourselves through the weekend with smiles.
Thankful for family.
Summer.
At my favourite place.

Come back to me warm weather.
Sun-kissed skin.
And the smell of sunscreen.

Bring on the water.
The constant watermelon eating.
And sand in every crevice of my children's bodies.

I want to plant my veggies.
The smell of freshly cut grass.
And dinners on the patio.

I miss you summer.
I want you back.
Lets make out.

au revoir ete

That means "goodbye summer" in french just in case you were wondering.
Momma is here to teach.
This post is a compilation of my favourite photographs taken this summer just because I feel the need to reminisce and drown myself in my sadness over the end of the season.
Fall=less daylight, cooler temps, depressed Momma, increased dosage of happy pills

On a side note, don't you love the words "compilation" and "reminisce"?  I must figure out a way to incorporate them into every sentence I speak/write.

Annnnyways, without further ado, here are my favourite pics from the Summer of 2011.  Feel free to tell me which one you love/hate the most and then tell me that you need happy pills too.  My self love increases when I know there are other humans as screwed up as me.

Thanks muchly.
